On Dec 17, 2015, TransCanada filed an amended application with the National Energy Board (NEB) that adjusts the proposed route, scope and capital cost of the Energy East Pipeline Project.
The filing followed TransCanada’s announcement to not proceed with a marine terminal in Quebec as part of the Energy East project. Included in the Application Amendment are (but not limited to):
- Detailed information on the updated project components
- Updates to the project’s anticipated benefits, cost and timing
- New descriptions of landowner consultations and Indigenous engagement
- Plans for submitting Environmental and Socio-economic Assessment addendums and additional reports
Information on engagement outcomes and the outstanding environmental field surveys for affected Project components will be submitted to the NEB in Spring 2016.
