Today, a group of professional opponents staged the hand-delivery of messages to the National Energy Board (NEB), demanding that Canada’s energy regulator considers greenhouse gas emissions produced by the oil sector as a whole when it reviews our application to build the Energy East
Energy East is a 4,500-kilometre pipeline that will transport approximately 1.1 million barrels of crude oil per day from Alberta and Saskatchewan to the refineries of Eastern Canada and a marine terminal in New Brunswick. There is an important choice before us all. That choice is about where we get the oil we need and how we choose to transport it. Energy East makes sense and this is why the majority of Canadians support the project.
